 Mixing live performance with artificial intelligence software, The False Peach flips the switch between man and machine. This algorithmic parsing of Hamlet re-envisions the play for the 21st century: mediated, overwhelmed, outdone, and even replaced by the digital cacophany of our modern times. As computers generate their own production of the play, new scenes, songs, scores and visuals emerge from this ultimate text for theater. The False Peach includes an all-star list of collaborators, including Scott Shepherd (Gatz), Jim Findlay (Cynthia Hopkins, Ralph Lemon) and the famed programmer Mark Hansen (Listening Post).

Annie Dorsen is an Obie Award-winning director, creator and all-around arts maven who works in a variety of fields, including theater, film, dance and digital performance. She is the co-creator and director of the 2008 Broadway musical Passing Strange, a piece that went on to be filmed by Spike Lee and screened everywhere from Sundance to PBS’s Great Performances. She has taught at Bard College and is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
